Spellbound

This game was so awesome. Except for the fact that it had like 50 words it could say and for the rest it would display them on screen and then ask you to spell it back. That was stupid.

It was fun to use the word editor to add asdfjklasd, tjerkltjwert, gjslkdfjgh, bxcnvjkgns, afgjkasdlfn, gjhsldfkgj, and the like to the dictionary, thereby increasing the difficulty of the game unto the heavens themselves. In 1990 or so. When I was 6.

Gizmos & Gadgets was my personal favorite. There was some other spelling-related mystery game on the LC II's in 5th grade too.

Gizmos and Gadgets was great.

I also had, uh, Treasure Mountain, Treasure Cove, Reader Rabbit 3, and Operation Neptune. In short: way too many of those Learning Company games.

But hey, I beat them all by turning down the difficultyperfectly legitimately.
